This project consisted of 2,000 sqft of new hardwood flooring installation, refinishing and lacing new floor to existing, as well as custom handrails and stairs!
The home had an existing three and five-inch red oak plank with walnut 3/4 inch peg in the kitchen, entry, and nook. We sanded and refinished these areas as well as laced-in and extended new flooring. The new 3 and 5-inch select red oak plank extended into the dining room, hallway, office, and closest, covering 500 sqft. All of the hardwood flooring was finished with Pallmanns Gold, Clear waterbased finish. Bordering the entry and the dining room the home had an existing carpet that led into a sunken floor, we removed the carpet and installed oak stair treads.
Instead of installing hardwood flooring to the hallway between the garage, basement, and laundry room, we opted for 105 sqft of vinyl fusion flooring. This vinal flooring would hold up better against the heavy traffic and dirt tracked into that area by the family. It still looks elegant and pairs well with the hardwood flooring nearby and new handrails.
We removed the existing handrails for the staircase and dining room. Vagher Hardwood Floors installed new 3 1/2 inch boxed newel posts; oil rubbed copper balusters that are single twist. However, every third baluster had a basket.
In the basement, we removed the existing carpet and replaced it with 1,300 sqft of Neptune vinyl flooring. We also removed the existing stained pine baseboard strip, lightly sanded it, restained, refinished, and reinstalled it.
